Basing on the documents of acting grodskich books the staff and duties of administration of its competence is specified, the main stages of judicial system and the legal sources were defined. The administration of the grodskij court consisted of a senior man, sub-senior man, grodskij judge, court reporter and court jury: vyzhiv, deckich and voznych. It is proved that in real life the competence of a grodskij court was much wider than it was established by law. In order to prove the truth grodskij court officials used different investigation methods cooperating with other regional courts and kopnym and dominant courts. The process based on the complicated evidenceal system and presupposed dup knowledge of existing legal regulations in force. During the putting the verdict into effect the court based on not only on the written code, but also on the old traditional law. The researcher proved that the norms of the latter often played the decisive role.
