Voloshchuk S. Cell line selection of wheat for resistance to Fusarium graminearum Schwabe

The object of study: peculiarities of wheat scab resistance manifestation. The purpose of study: to develop a technology of in vitro induction, screening and selection of wheat breeding material being scab resistant. The methods: in vitro culture, hybridization, mycological, biochemical, cytological, statistic. The scientific novelty consists in studying Fusarium graminearum cultural filtrate (CF) action in vitro and in vivo; determining genotype-dependent toxic, gene toxic, and mutagenic action of CF on callus cultures; developing and improving criteria of resistant cell lines screening and selection; ascertaining genetic control of regenerating ability trait; proving efficiency of integration of combining, mutation and somaclonal variability to obtain more resistant genotypes. Field of use: plant breeding.
