The reserch object - the Ukrainian nobles and its places and role in historical process of the XIX Century. The aim of the reserch to investigate the Tarnovsky's famaly activity as the subjects of socially-historical process of the XIX Century. The methods of the reserch: historical, chronological, analise, sinthesis, generalization. Tarnovsky's family tree, their relationships with other nobles is analyzed, the participation of Tarnovsky V.V., the main person of the preparation and conducting rural and agrarian reform of the 60-s of the ХІХ Century is lighted. It is come to light the contribution of Tarnovsky to progressive changes of Ukrainian society, it is showed the considerable influence of Tarnovsky on Ukraine medicine, education, historical science and museum conducting. Beneficial activity Tarnovsky in the ХІХ Century is analyzed. The materials of central and regional archival depositories of Ukraine are used in scientific circulation, except Tarnovsky's family archive. The sphere of usage theaching courses of history of Ukrane, archiveology, museumology.
