Кhomenko S. Creation of initial material for winter common bread wheat breeding by treating hybrid seeds with mutagens

Subjekt of research - form-building processes in hybrid-mutant common bread winter wheat populations under the influence of chemical and physical mutagenous factors. The arm of research - the substantiation of efficiency of coniunetive use of combining and mutation variability when treating seeds of common bread winter wheat hybrids with mutagens. The methods are field, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. Value and novelty of research - it is established that the action of nitrosoalkyl substanced and gamma-rays in optimal doses on seeds of F1 hybrids of common bread winter wheat causes the extension of range and the increase of common frequency of mutation changes in winter wheat plants. The differences from theoretically expected splitting under the influence of mutagens when inheriting of characters "beardedness/baldness, grain and spikes colour" are revealed. The initial breeding as well valuable lines with increased resistance to powdery mildew and septoria spot, with increased bushiness, large spike, large grain, early-ripening ones are developed. Introduction - the valuable breeding specimens are given to the National Centre of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine, the National Agrarian University, the Bila Yserkva State Agrarian University.
