Object -- education of homeless children in 1920- homeless children in the Poltava region is revealed; Results -- elective 1930; Purpose -- to carry out the theoretical analysis and to generalize experience of leading pedagogical establishments, the state structures and public organizations in education of homeless children in Poltava region in 20-30th of XX century; to set up leading tendencies in educational work with homeless children and opportunities of development of these tendencies in modern conditions; Methods -- retrospective logical-system, compare-analytical, historical-comparative, historical-geographical, biographic, chronological, logical-historical; Novelty -- the theoretical analysis is carried out, leading ideas of education of homeless children are systematized, experience of educational work of children's establishments, the state structures and public organizations is investigated and scientifically generalized, process is proved and stages of education of homeless children are determined, specificity of educational work with special courses and scientific-methodical recommendations for teachers and social workers are developed
