Essay

The thesis is devoted to the elaboration of the reductive trial cycle that consists of steady conditions and allows evaluating the engine technical state objectively, detecting and eliminating the defects and divergences in the engine basic systems regulations. The experimental characteristics that define the engine under consideration as a source of energy, harmful emissions, petrol and air consumer are taken, and the fuel consumption of VAZ-2106 in the European driving cycle is specified. The mathematical model of a car traffic on the European driving cycle used while elaborating of the reductive trial cycle is specified and its adequacy is checked. The reductive cycle conditions for VAZ-2106 engine testing are defined. It is proved that engine testings of reductive trial cycle allow detecting the defects and divergences in the regulations of the engine basic systems on the modification of fuel consumption and ecological characteristics from the data that are typical for the engine that functions properly. The possibility of the application of the complying methods for reductive cycle for the engines of different types is proved. The conditions of the reductive cycle of for the MeMZ-245 engine of automobile "Tavria" testing are worked out.
