This dissertation is written in the context of Ukrainian national renaissance as a research work to determine K.Shirotsky's (1886-1919) role as historian, student of local lore, ethnographer, art's and Shevchenko's expert, public and educational and pedagogical men at the first quarter of the XX century. Here the process of his development as scientist is followed up, investigated his participation in scientific societies as organizer of regional researches, determined importance of his creative inheritance in modern Ukrainian Historical Science.
