The Thesis is devoted to research of a comlex of traditions, holidays and ceremonials of the population of Eastern Ukraine in 1960-1985 years. On the basis of the analysis of various archival and published historical sources: the documents of state bodies, statistscal and current office-work documents, materials of a Comission on the Soviet traditaons, holidays and rites under the Counsil of Ministers of the UkSSR, peridical editins, own ethnographic materials, data of oral history, sociological researches it is revealed ethnic, demographic and social-economical factors of holidays and ceremonials develoment. The policy of party and state is considered as one of the factors of development of holidays. The stages of formation and principles of activity of the administrative mechanism of realizatin celebratory of ritual creativity policy are investigated. The transformatiom of family-household rites is cosidered: wedding, maternity, funeral rites and tradition of going to guests. The author revealedchanges sn a complex of public traditions, holidays and rites: calendar, professional-labour, state. The perseptin of state policy in daily life is considered.
