The object: comparative proverbs and sayings. The aim: description of semantic and syntactic organization of comparative proverbs and sayings. The methods of the research: a descriptive and analytical method, a method of component analysis, a method of semantic explications. The scientific novelty: for the first time comparative proverbs and sayings of the Russian language are the object of the special complex research from the point of view of the description of their structure and semantic organization. The sphere of use: for subsequent development of theory of comparativeness, for methodology of semantic description of the folklore language, for teaching of the courses of lexicology and phraseology of the modern Russian language, for making a dictionary of Russian folk comparisons.
