Dzhavad I. Effectiveness of complex therapy of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome with the use of electrostimulation of pharyngeal and laryngeal muscles, prolonged beta2-agonist in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma

Object of the study - obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) combined with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchial asthma (BA); aim of study: to study the influence of electrostimulation of pharyngeal and laryngeal muscles with application of prolonged beta-2 agonist salmeterol on clinical-functional characteristics of OSAS in patients with COPD, BA; methods - clinical-functional, polysomnography (PSG) ; newness - complex therapy of patients with COPD or BA combined with OSAS with use of electrostimulation of pharyngeal and laryngeal muscles and prolonged beta2-agonist improves clinical symptoms of OSAS in patients with COPD on 16,3%, in patients with BA on 20,5%. New method of treatment improves functional polysomnographical signs in patients with COPD on 21,6%, in patients with BA on 20,2%. New original method of treatment of OSAS improves clinical symptoms of COPD, BA and lung's function in patients with combined pathology; field of application - medicine.
