Gordienko V. Formation of General Slang in Modern Russian Language

Modern Russian lgeneral slang. Linguistic and extralinguistic reasons that promote appearance and development of russian general slang are analyzed. Basic criteria of the general slang are worked out in the investigation to divide general slang units from the other substandart lexical units. Lexicographical presentation of general slang is taken into consideration. The investigation of the data of general slang units, which were collect from different sourses, revealed new slangy units, that have not been fixed in special slang dictionaries. The sourses of enrichment and the ways of expansion of general slang are also investigated. The conditions and the mechanism of the standart language absorbing the elements of the general slang are stated. Lexical-semantic and structural-morphological features of Russian general slang are specified in the investigation.
