3. Private life and leisure of urban population of Ukraine in 1945-1955 are investigated in the dissertation. Fundamental issues related to daily life of townspeople are covered on the grounds of wide basis of sources and available historiography. Development of housing, communal amenities and health services is investigated. Changes which have taken place in consumption level of the population are traced. Character and contents of cultural leisure in a complex of common needs of townspeople, their attitude to family occasions and public holidays is assessed.
