Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the solution of the scientific task of optimization of distribution of the container streams on the network of railway lines that allows increasing the efficiency of container traffic. The questions of transition to the more economic and progressive technologies of forming and admission of container streams that meet the market requirements are examined. The mathematical model for formalization of the process of container traffic is proposed in this work for the first time. It allows taking into account the interests of shippers and owing to this to increase the competitiveness of railways on the container traffic market. There are improved the methods of determination of prime cost of the container traffic and calculation of expediency for setting of container trains. The methods of prognostication of container streams have received the following development. It allows taking into account irregularity of arrival of containers at the freight terminals according to the season, days of the week and during the day.
