The dissertation presents a detailed investigation of the condition and activities of the late Protestant communities of the Right Bank Ukraine in 1900 - 1917. The factors which determined the spread of the evangelic and eschatolo-gic teachings in the Orthodox surroundings are studied. The late Protestant communities' dogmatic peculiarities and laws of inner order are determined; their role in the spread of Protestantism is analysed. The social and national complement of the Protestant communities and the changes within it are defined. The use of various sources and materials gave an opportunity to reflect the principal directions of the Protestants' activities, in particular, the missionary work. The sectarians' activities in publishing industry and in the social work is analysed. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the Protestants' interrelation with the Russian administration bodies and the Orthodox Church representatives. The fact of the tensity in their relations being stipulated by opposition of their interests is ascertained. The sectarians tried to spread their religious teaching in the Orthodox surroundings and it evoked the counteraction of the Russian Orthodox Church. The authorities' treatment of the sectarians was predetermined by the desire to defend the Orthodox Church and to introduce maximum restriction of the late Protestant congregations' activities.
