In the dissertation a complex analysis of the changes in the social structure of the rural population of Ukraine at period between the latest population censuses 1989 - 2001 is organized. On the basis of the detailed analysis of wide diversity of static and archival materials, scientific publications in the dissertation the dynamics of natural and mechanical motions of the rural population of Ukraine are researched and the causes of these changes are determined.
