Essay

Thesis deals with the linguistic means of creating symbols, expressing traditional and author’s symbolic meanings of “Fire”, “Earth”, “Water”, “Air” in Russian symbolists’ poetry. The structure of linguistic symbol, ways of symbol’s studying and its determinations existing in modern science are analyzed in the research. The ways of analyzing symbols from the linguistic point of view, structure of linguistic symbols and concepts as basic elements – nuclear of a linguistic symbol are represented in the work. Linguistic symbols are researched as semiotic concepts with a field structure.
