Essay

Thesis is aimed at investigating of influence of bioethanol additives to petrol on ecological, power and energy efficiency performance of wheeled vehicles. Theoretical research of influence of alcohol additives to petrol (on the example of bioethanol) on positive ignition engine performance has been conducted. Mathematical model of vehicle motion according to the urban driver cycle (with the object of evaluation of influence of alcohol additives on vehicle performance) has been specified and model's adequacy has been tested. Experimental characteristics of properties of mixtures of petrol with bioethanol have been determinated. Sinergistical effect of influence of bioethanol and composition additives on its basis on detonation performance of petrols has been found out. Complex of laboratory and road tests of engines and vehicles as well as operation tests of controlled groups of vehicles (for comparison of use of conventional petrol and blends of petrol with bioethanol) and mathematical estimation ofinfluence of bioethanol additives on the vehicle performance have been conducted. The results of the research indicate that application of bioethanol additives and composition additives on its basis to petrol is reasonable as it allows to decrease emission of pollutants (products of incomplete combustion of fuels) almost without changing of engine power and vehicle fuel economy performance. Taking into consideration the whole fuel use and production life cycle it will resulted in improvement of vehicle energy efficiency in operation.
