Essay

The dissertation is devoted to consideration of problem of existential frustration psychological determinants. It was fixed, that origin of existential frustration of personality depends not on the separate individual psychological characteristics, but on the system complex connection between essential personality traits and life value orientation of personality. The cause of loss of meaning in life may be in constellation of essential personality traits (low level of agreeableness, low level of consciousness, low level of openness to new experience, high level of neuroticism), the negative attitude toward one's abilities for solving life problems, in such peculiarities of life value orientation as underestimation of creativity, cognition and work as the sources of life sense, giving the preference to material values. The spatial and temporal wholeness of existence, the full fusion into the social dimension of one's life, the stable positive self-conception, self-control and potential of life crisis overcoming exert the most profound influence upon the process of seeking and finding of life sense. The most important integral trait, demanding for life sense finding is the trait, joining the openness to new experience and consciousness in wide meaning. The coordinated, adjusted development of openness to new experience and consciousness is named the opened consciousness or the harmonic extravagance of personality. The developed training project to work with existentially frustrated people in groups was approved by the author and demonstrated its efficacy.
