Myronenko O. Diagnostic and correction of respiratory muscles dysfunction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases

Object: chronical obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) respiratory muscles’ (RM) dysfunction. Aim: to enhancement of efficiency of treatment of the patients with COPD by elaboration of the recommendations for appropriate diagnostic and medicinal correction of RM dysfunction. Methods: spirometry, occlusion spirometry, pulsoxymetry, biochemistry investigation of blood. Results: the correlation between the breathlessness, lung function parameters, degree of hypoxemia and strength of RM’ was established in COPD patients. There was achieved tobacco smoking influence on RM’ function. We established, that in COPD patient with increase of airways bronchoobstruction was observed growth of RM’ strength. The highest level of tolerance to physical activity was determined in patients with the largest RM’ strength. There was revealed, that therapy with carried over bronchodilators has positively influences on RM’ function. The most significant positively effect was registered in group treated by combined bronchodilator with calcium channels’ blockers. Area of application: medicine, pulmonology.
