Essay

The results of studies of chromosomal instability end-points of Ukrainian Antarctic winterers are presented. A significant increase in levels of chromosome aberrations and micronuclei after the expeditions was found. There was no alteration in levels of chromosome segregation failure. Study of the dynamics of micronuclei rate in Antarctica was carry out. The results allows us to suggest that physiological stress is the main mutagenic factor in Antarctica.
