The dissertation is devoted to complex research of public and political activity of M.Porsh. The previous research on the issue was analyzed, a wide range of archive sources were used, some of them were introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The politician's contribution to the process of formation and activities of the Revolutionary Ukrainian Party (RUP) and Ukrainian Social and Democratic Labour Party (USDRP) was defined.
