The dissertation contains the outcome of theoretical and experimental research on economic awareness features characteristic of university and college students. In the paper, the essence and peculiarities of individual's economic awareness are revealed, its principal forms elicited and described, and their correlation and interdependence are shown. The structural components and functions of students' economic awareness are highlighted, and the mechanism of its functioning analyzed. The experiential data are presented, which were obtained in the empirical research on how the individual's subjective economic status and gender factor influence the structural components of students' economic awareness. The specific features of technical students' economic awareness are scrutinized.
