Essay

The thesis explores the psychological bases of development of innovative management styles used by managers of educational organizations. The author reveals the psychological features of innovative management styles and the content of the organizational-psychological approach to their study. The work presents the author's concept of development of innovative management styles used by managers of educational organizations and describes the innovative management styles classification according to the following criteria: «Innovative changes in the organization», «Teamwork in the organization», and «Partnership in the organization». The author also discusses the results of empirical research, which has found low levels of development of innovative management styles used by managers of educational organizations, especially the styles that have been distinguished by such indicators as «combination of managers' leadership and administrative functions», «managers' orientation to teamwork», «managers' emotional intelligence», and «managers-teaching staff relationship». It has been shown that managers and educational organizations' organizational and psychological characteristics have relationship with some features of managers-educational organizations interaction and managers' innovative management styles, which implies that these features are the factors in developing innovative management styles used by managers of educational organizations. The author has developed and experimentally tested a special organizational and psychological technology for the development of innovative management styles used by managers of educational organizations. The technology yields the best results if used at two levels: at the level of educational organizations (development and implementation of city innovation programs) and at the level of managers' psychological training (the training course development and teaching).
