Essay

In the thesis an evolution of local government of the Greek community in Ukraine at XVII - XIX cc. has been studied. Historical context (reasons and nature of the beginning) of formation of the Greek communities of Nizhyn and Sea of Azov Northern area has been established as well as regulation of this process by Hetman and Russian government has been characterized. A beginning of self-organization of Greek communities was determined. Political legal aspect of Greek self-organization settings was analyzed and the normative-legal statements regulated the Greek communities of Nezhin and Sea of Azov Northern area. It was proved that one of the main requirements of Nizhyn's and Mariupol's greeks was an autonomy formation for fixation and enlargement of privileged state of Greek communities. Special attention was accentuated to studying of organizing and functioning of self-government Greek communities as well as basic directions of follow organizations: Nizhyn Greek town council and Mariupol Greek court oflaw. Elimination of Greek self-governing divisions during the reforms realization at sixties-seventies of XIX century was studied.
