Essay

The object of research is a socio-economic and legal position of the Jewish population in the South Ukrainian region during the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century. The aim of research: to determine the dynamics of forming and development of the Jewish population as separate, single socio-ethnic group on the South Ukraine. The Subjec of research: life characteristics of the Jewish population in the Kherson gubernia and influence of the Jewish factor on the dynamics of social, economic, demographic development of the region. The methods of research: logical, comparative-history, sinchronic, descriptive. The results of research and novelty: The role and place of the Jewish population in socio-economic development of the main cities of the region (Odessa, Kherson, Mykolayiv) are explored. The process and result of Jewish agricultural colonization are considered, as the unique phenomenon in the history of Jewish people. The Jewish population is characterized, as one of the most mobile ethnic groups, which played significant role in socio-economic development of the South Ukrainian region, overcoming artificial limitations of great-power Russian governmental policy. The sphere of usage: subsequent development of subject of research, writing of summarizing labours, train aids, during reading of courses of history of Ukraine, of the Jewish population and ethnic-national of history of the South Ukrainian region.
