Prihodko I. Russian youth slang in Kyev (the end of the XX - the beginning of the XXI century)

Russian youth slang in the city of Kyiv. Is devoted to the research of the formation of the youth slang in Kyiv in modern Russian, as well as to the perspectives of its enrichment, the ways of its spreading and its lexicographic fixation. The Russian youth slang in the city of Kyiv has been chosen as the subject-matter of the investigation for the first time in modern linguistics. The paper describes the Russian slang via structural-semantic, functional and exicographic analysis. The thesis offers a system of the criteria of highlighting youth slang elements in the corpus of informal lexis. The results of the paper have become the basis for "Dictionary of The Youth Slang in the City of Kyiv" that variety of symbolic meanings expressed by the primary elements. Symbols used in comprises 2300 elements, among which there are items never fixed in any other specialized dictionaries. The suggested analysis of the Russian slang in Kyiv gives a thorough view of its systematic organization, the specificity of its formation, the development of slang items and their lexicographic fixation in the dictionaries of the youth sociolect.
