The object of the dissertation is the process of development of the idea of the Ukrainian unity in the theory and the practice of the Ukrainian national movement. The aim of dissertation is the complex investigation of theoretical expression and spreading of the idea of the Ukrainian unity by M. Dragomanov and I. Franko. The methods: analysis,classification, comparativ and others.The results: the research presents reconstruction of elaboration and propagation of the idea of the unity by the leading Ukrainian representatives. There has been analyzed the persuasions of M. Dragomanov and I. Franko concerning the Ukrainian unity.The results of the dissertation may bee used for the preparation of the lectures of the history of Ukraine, the Ukrainian philosophy.
