Bereny A. Social-political situation and cultural development of Hungarian national minority in Transcarpathian region (1991-2004)

Social-political and cultural development of Hungarian national minority in Transcarpathian region during 1991-2004 is investigated in the thesis. On the basis of the analysis of archive documents, statistic materials, Ukrainian and Hungarian mass media, demographical dynamics, social-political processes and ethnocultural development of Hungarians in Transcarpathia are characterized. The factors of natural increase/shortage of the population and migration processes are determined. Social-political processes are analysed through Hungarian participation in political life of Transcarpathia and activity of national-cultural associations. The evolution of national movement for administrative territorial authonomy is analysed.
