Object: place and role of Ye. Olesnytsky in national-political and economic life of East Galychyna on the fracture of ХIХ–ХХ. Aim: reconstruction of vital and creative way of Ye. Olesnytsky; complex and objective illumination of his many-sided activity; opening of important aspects of theoretical inheritance; finding out of value of his personality in domestic history. Methods: logical, problem-chronologic, comparative, retrospective, biographic. Results: the basic stages of life, scalene social and political activity of Ye. Olesnytsky are objectively reflected, his contribution to economic development of region is thoroughly exposed, his role in growth of national consciousness of the Ukrainian people is found out. Sphere of the use: at writing of papers on history of Ukraine, historiographic and regional issues, in-process teaching and regional practice.
