Essay

A human-geographical approach to research of administrative and territorial division (ATD) of country at regional level is considered in dissertation. Human-geographical essence of the phenomenon is exposed ATD, human-geographical conceptions are systematized for ATD. The method of human-geographical research is developed ATD at regional level: factors which influence on forming of the administrative-territorial systems are defined; the criteria of selection of administrative units and centers of a different hierarchical level are grounded. Above all directions and the administra-tive and territorial reforming priorities are marked in Ukraine and practical recommendations are given on the improvement ATD the Odessa region
