Essay

The thesis deals with a study of the agrarian policy of the German authorities in the occupied regions of Ukraine that period of 1941-1943 were guided by the Vermacht. The contents of the thesis describes the formation of the invading plans of the Nazi authorities in regard of the exploitation of the agricultural potential of the Ukrainian areas. On the basis of a large amount of documentary materials, mainly obtained from oblast archive institutions of the republic, a study has been made relating to the activities in the region carried out by the German military and administrative, as well as military and economic bodies and also Ukrainian auxiliary ones. There have been traced peculiar features of the agrarian policy of the Nazis, as well as their tries in reforming the agricultural production sector. The attitude of the local population to the German occupational authorities has been analysed, and the principal factors that effected the regime replacement have been identified. The author tries to determine the consequences of the Germans' economic activities and assess the volume of the material damages in the agrarian sector of the country's military zone of Ukraine that resulted after the two years of the occupation.
