Hanna S. Chernihiv Magistrate: status, structure and main direction of activity (2nd half of XVII - XVIII cen.).

The thesis provides a detailed study of the history of Chernihiv Magistratе - body of city self-government, has been carried out in the thesis. The structure of the municipal government headed by viyt, the principles of municipal officials elections and also the forming of the chancellery, and the complement staff have been determined by this research. The territories that were under the Chernihive Magistrate's jurisdiction has been defined. There have been followed the changes in the number of the staff of Chernihiv middle classes society in this work. Also the main directions of the magistrate authorities activity and the relationships between the Magistrate and representatives of Cossack and Russian governments have been analyzed.
