Sokol'nyk S. Сlinico-morphologic substantiation of correcting the nail plate in surgical treatment of an ingrown nail in children

The dissertation deals with a study of formation factors of an ingrown nail in children and the specific characteristics of the disease course with the development of new criteria of prognosticating the onset and perfecting surgical modalities of this particular pathology in children on the basis of defining clinico-pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of onychocryptosis. The results of the research document changes of the nail plate morphostructure and the tissues of the nail bed at an early stage of human ontogenesis and nail ingrowth in children, major factors of the risk of the onset of this particular pathology pathology in childhood and the weighty role of the hereditary factor. The expediency of surgical debridement of the nail matrices has been substantiated and an evaluations of the efficacy of different modes of treatment of an ingrown nail in children has been carried out. The author's own mode of surgical treatment of an ingrown nail in children has been proposed and its clinical efficacy has been corroborated.
