Essay

Object – buds and leaves of birch, zinc undecylenate, salicylic acid; auxiliary substances – ethanol, purified water, propylene glycol; liquid extracts from buds and leaves of birch and the lotions based on their extracts; the purpose –work out of medicines based on birch for the treatment of dermatological diseases; methods – qualitative chemical reactions, spectrophotometry, titrimetric analysis, potentiometric determination, microbiological and biological methods, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty – for the first time the optimum composition and efficient technology of preparations for treatment of infectious dermatological diseases based on birch - domestic raw material - is grounded. Investigations of above-mentioned preparations according to demands of Ukrainian Pharmacopoeia have been studied; the methods of identification and quantitative analysis of active ingredients have been worked out, the antibacterial and antifungal activity has been established, the microbiological and toxicological safety has been proved. The optimum storage conditions and shelf life of developed preparations have been established; the outcomes – the analytical normative documents for buds of birch, liquid extract from buds of birch, liquid extract from leaves of birch, lotion “Betunzin-1”, lotion “Betunzin-2”; introduced – into educational process of Ivano-Frankivs state medical university, Odessa state medical university, Ternopil state medical university named by I.Gorbachevsky, into industrial process of Joint-stock company “Halychpharm” “Arterium” corporationt.
