Bielsky O. Old-believers of Southern Ukraine: formation and development in the second half of the XVIII - in the beginning of the XX cc.

The object of research is a old-believers movement and relations between religions in the Southern Ukraine. The aim of research: to examine the process of formation and development of old-believers' organizations and settlements in the Southern Ukraine, to analyze relations between old-believers and state. The subjec of research: history of origin and development of old-believers' organizations in the Southern Ukraine. The methods of research: logical, chronological, synchronous, diachronic, statistical, classification. The results of research and novelty: activity of old-believers' communities is analyzed on the basis of detailed analysis of documents. Basic stages of formation of old-believers' organizations and settlements in the Southern Ukraine are determined. Characteristics of policy of different governments concerning old-believers in the region are analyzed. Quantitative and qualitative structure of old-believers' population of Tavrida's guberniya is determined. The sphere of usage: subsequentdevelopment of subject of research, writing of summarizing labours, train aids, during the reading of courses of history of Ukraine, history of the Southern Ukraine; in public policy.
