Essay

The migration of western-Ukrainian rural population to Lviv in 1950-1980s and their adaptation is examined in this thesis. The author investigated dynamics of the migration, the reasons and the motivation of moving of the peasants to the city, peculiarities of labor pendulum migration, dwelling problems, the conditions of education and employment, the relations of rural newcomers with native Lviv citizens, the language adaptation, the interest in the social-political and cultural life of the city, the leisure and socio-psychological adaptation of the peasants in Lviv in condition of their maintaining close relations with villages that they have already left.
