The thesis gives social, philosophical, and methodological analysis of formation and development of information civilization. Guided by the theoretical analysis of industrial and technological society the author determines common laws of formation and development of information civilization under the conditions of information and computer revolution. The thesis shows that in the conditions of information civilization virtualization of all spheres of life activity is becoming a global value of humanity. The outcome of the carried out research is the statement that transition to the information society symbolizes changes in the paradigms of cognition and activity, changes in the outlooks of the society and its interconnections with a human being, which is necessary to introduce because of the trends of information civilization development in Ukraine. The thesis is a complete social-philosophical research, the source of information that allows us to comprehend the formation and development of modern information civilization. The work represents the integral picture of information society description.
