Dmitrivskaya A. Influence of different seed quality on efficiency of sunflower plants in conditions of north-east Forest-steppe of Ukraine

Subject: sunflower seeds of diverse qualities and their influence on the expression of economic traits of plants. Aim: to reveal causes for diverse quality origin in sunflower seeds, to find some ways for reducing its negative effect on the expression of economic traits of plants. Methods: field, laboratory-field, measuring-weight, mathematical-statistical, calculated-comparative. Novelty: for the first time under the conditions of the north-eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine on the example of the standard variety of sunflower Postolyans'kyi some scientific foundations for the formation of seeds of diverse qualities were widened and deepened. Results: there is defined plant optimal density; it has been substantiated that there is no need for seed fractionation as to size and for its separation into fractions irrespective of the place of its package. Application stage: the results have been implemented into the agricultural production farms STOV "Malovystorops'ke" and SATZT "Zorya" in the Sumy Oblast on the area of 120 ha with the economic effect - 187,2 thou. grvn. Application area: sunflower seed production.
