Kulikova N. Redish initial material for heterosis hybrids creation on the self-incompatibility basis

Subject: garden radish heterotic selection based on self-incompatibility. Aim: to determine special features of incompatible inbred lines in garden radish and to estimate their combining ability and a level of economic traits' expression. Methods: visual, measuring weight, chemical, mathematical-statistical, calculated. Novelty: there are established some special features of economic traits: earliness, yielding ability, marketability, produce quality, resistance to abiotic and biotic factors and there is created a germplasm bank for garden radish collection accessions. Results: 8 self-incompatible inbred lines with yhe complex of economic traits recommended to use in selection are originated. Application stage: by the author the hybrid Sideya F1 was originated, the working collection of garden radish was replenished with self-incompatible lines. Application area: breeding institutions, AIC of Ukraine.
