In the dissertation the complex analysis of German loans in Russian is carried out on the material of the modern lexico-graphic sources. Leading extra- and intralinguistic factors of the borrowing process are analyzed from the historic and cultural viewpoint. The modern model for thematic classification of vocabulary is created. Features of adaptation of German loans in phonetic, derivative, grammatical and semantic aspects are investigated.
