Prylutska L. Struggle against Unemployment in Kharkiv in the 20s - early 30s of XXth Century

The object of study - unemployment in Kharkiv in the 20s - early 30s of XXth Century. The purpose of study is creation of the general complex characteristic of process of struggle of the state with unemployment in the 20s - early 30s of XXth Century in Kharkiv. The methods used in the research are: historical-genetic, historical-system, comparative-historical, historical-typological, structural analysis. The practical value of work consists in use of the materials of dissertation by development of courses lectures on a history of Ukraine and local lore for higher educational institutions, by preparation special courses and special seminars on a socio-economic history. The thesis is devoted to the problem of unemployment in Kharkiv in the 20s - early 30s of XXth century. In the research the presented the principal trends and distinctive features of unemployment, labour force management in Kharkiv, one of the biggest industrial centres of the republic during the New Economic Policy period have been firstsummarised. The characteristic of the situation with unemployment is proposed: the sources of unemployment are analysed, the causes of unemployment and their interrelation are clarified, the structural changes in the categories of unemployed are traced; the impact of social and economic factors on the dynamics and structure of unemployment in Kharkiv is revealed. A comprehensive analysis for organization and activities of the authorities for the struggle against unemployment has been made; the practices and the effectiveness of the struggle against unemployment in the 20s - early 30s of XXth century have been studied, the forms and standards of social protection, the role of the social assurance for Kharkiv unemployed during this period are shown.
