The complex analysis of introducing Ukrainian as the state language into the higher learning institutions under conditions of independent and sovereign Ukrainian state has been made. It has been given the author's conception of the state language functioning normative and legal support. Organizational activities for introducing Ukrainian as the state language into the educational process are assessed.
