Bondar O. Adaptive – Seed Potential and Elements of Zonal Seed-Growing of Minor Crops and Onion in Crimea.

Object: elements of technology for zone production of seeds of endive, Sweet basil, broom amaranth, safflower, steppe kale, onion. Aim: to work-out and master a complex of technological elements and practices for growing seeds of minor vegetable plants and onion under conditions of the Lower Foothill agroclimatic area of Crimea; to define an optimum agroclimatic area for seed-growing of the onion variety Yaltinskii Mestnii. Methods: field, laboratory ones. Novelty: under conditions of Crimea the complex estimation is carried out, sources of economically-valuable signs are singled out and adaptive ability of the gene pool of endive, sweet basil, broom amaranth, safflower, steppe kale, onion is determined; terms of seeds seeding, gathering, placement of minor vegetable plants are determined for the Lower Foothill agroclimatic area of Crimea; there are worked out elements of technology for production of seeds of the onion variety Yaltinskii Mestnii for the Lower Foothill and Southern agroclimatic areas of Crimea, which allow to increase production and quality of seeds with the maximum preservation of high-quality signs stability.Results: methodical recommendations on seed growing of minor vegetable plants and onion are worked out; the new variety of endive - Salgir with the yield of seeds about 0,083 t/ha, greens about 24,6 t/ha is created, economic efficiency has made up 1275 Hr. Methodical recommendations on seed growing of salad varieties of onion are worked out; the new variety of onion Yaltinskii Lux is created, the additional net profit of its growing makes up 159,1 ths Hr/ha, profitableness - 193,6%.
