Berenda O. Shuttle-test in the assessement of physical activity in patients with chronic inflammatory lung diseases

Object of research - chronic inflammatory lung diseases; goal - to studu possibilites using of suttle-test in the assessement of physical activity in patients with chronic inflammatory lung disease; metods of study - clinical, laboratorial, instrumental, statistics. Results -a rationale for shuttle-test application in evaluation of exercise capacity of patients with chronic inflammatory lung diseases is presented in the dissertation. The patients with different mechanisms of lung failure have different subjective perception of dyspnea. In IPF patients the exercise capacity is mainly determined by the level of arterial hypoxemia. In COPD patients the bronchial obstruction cause stronger influence on the results of shuttle-test. The test may also be used in evaluation of treatment effectiveness. Incremental walking shuttle-test is a simple, available and in the same time enough objective method for determination of the level of exercise capacity - the most important criterion of patients' quality of life.
