Romanovsky V. The Development of the Monument Science in Kharkiv region in the XIX - early XX centuries

The object of study - process of development monument science in Kharkiv region in the XIX - early XX centuries. The purpose of study is to illuminate process of development of all directions of monument science in Kharkiv region in the XIX - early XX centuries: scientific, practical, public. The methods used in the research are: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparison, generalization, structural-system, synchronous, chronological, diachronous, biographic, historical-genetic. The practical value of work consists in use of materials of the dissertation in monument science researches, at teaching courses of a history of Ukraine and local lore in educational institutions; at the decision of questions of protection, study, use of monuments; at a spelling of generalizing works on a Ukrainian history of monument science, development of special course on this scientific discipline. The dissertation looks into the process of development of scientific, practical and public directions of themonument science in Kharkiv region in the XIX - early XX centuries. The activity of state structures, public, religious, scientific organizations and individuals in the protection, examination, utilization and popularization of the historical and cultural monuments is investigated. Serious attention is paid to the scientific and public activity of the Kharkiv province statistical committee, the Kharkiv historical and philological society, the Kharkiv eparchy church and archaeological society, the Ukrainian architectural and artistic department of the Kharkiv literary and artistic circle, archaeological congresses.
