In dissertational it is shown, that image of a militia officer is the factor of development of citizens' legal conscience. Psychological features of a militia officer are determined; its dynamics is analysed. It is revealed, that image of a militia officer - is polyfunctionality. Specific character of citizens' expectation relatively to a militia officer in the system of desired rights and law order is researched. A recommendation on forming of a militia officer's image based on representations of civilians is proposed.
