Koval I. Scientific and Public Work of Yaroslav Pasternak (1913-1969).

Taking into account the historiographic achievements, the source base and, first of all, his scientific heritage, the complex of factors that have influenced the formation of scientific views of the researcher of the Ukrainian antiquity is studied, his theoretical work in solving the problem of the Slavonic ethnogenesis is characterized, main stages of the archaeological study of the towns of the Prince's. Age - Galych, Belz, Zvenygorod, Peremyshl, Plisnesk, Terebovlya are observed, the role in the recreation of the cultural bases of the historic development of the Ukrainian people is clarified. On the basis of the systematization of the actual material the contribution of Yaroslav Pasternak to the development of the native historiography is assessed.
