Varnashova E. The Orthodox Military Temple: social-philosophical analysis of development and functioning

In the thesis the author gives a social-philosophical analysis of genesis and functioning of a typi-cal representative of specific social objects - christian social military subsystems. This topic is a part of general problem of interaction of religious and military spheres of social activity which is important at the current stage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces development. The results of the re-search show that the Orthodox Military Temple social-philosophical genesis had objective character with the priority of the influence of Bysantine. The main active philosophical religious centre of the whole system of the Orthodox Military Temple is the military temple itself, typology, symbol-ism and evolution of which is analyzed in detail by the author. Orthodox Military Temple is a syn-thetic formation including such characteristics as sacred topos, meaning-formative archetype of the orthodox military sub-culture and social institution. Orthodox Military Temple shows its effectiveness in providing spiritual potential of the Armed Forces and the state in the whole.
