Essay

The research focuses on analyzing language resources for construction and reconstruction of gender marked mass-media (the so called magazines for women and men) audience consciousness. The research deals with the notion of psychography, in particular it describes the notion of gender psychography as existing between the theory of myth, linguistic gender studies and theory of mass-media. The analysis allows us to highlight the language resources of modern project technologies. Such gender objectivations as pieces of different language levels, mythologycal implications, concepts and frames were identified as lingustic methods of gender psychography. A high level of truth for results is made by accented gender marking of investigated texts (female magazine - female-editor - female-author; male magazine - male-editor - male-author). The results of this study make it possible to claim that linguistic methods of gender psychography are found in all levels of language and through making, constructing and reconstructing the function of psychography by supporting traditional images and stereotypes or destroying them, or changing those images and stereotypes.
