Essay

The dissertation is a complex investigation of the everyday life of Donbass’ population in 1945 – 1953. The following spheres of people’s life were analyzed in the work: material area, which includes dwelling, food, clothes etc., and sociocultural area, namely: leisure, holidays, public opinion and religious feelings of people. It was proved that there were acute food and housing crisis in past-war Donbass. It was concluded that people’s living standard has an influence on public opinions that vary from total support of the Soviet government policy to its criticism. Also it was proved that there was growth of the religiousness among population of the Donbass.
